That’s why we’ve chosen them as our January winner for the esteemed Billboard Media accolade – ‘Campaign of the Month’. What’s extra impressive is advertising with a billboard was a first for Trè Fitness! As the well-known saying goes: BOSH!
Behind Every Great Graphic Design Is A Dream Team
Our graphic design team is behind this campaign for Trè Fitness, but we don’t want to take all the credit… We had a great time working with the business owner (Trey!) for quite a few reasons… Here’s what our wonderful graphic designer, Charlotte, had to say:
“Timing is everything… and Trey got this spot on!”
Regardless of what industry you are in, there will be key times throughout the year when advertising will work especially well for you. It’s no coincidence that Trey planned ahead and made sure his billboard campaign was live for January… we all know that the new year ushers in lots of resolutions about getting healthier and fitter. So this was a genius move on Trey’s part! The lesson here is: be like Trey. Plan ahead if you want to ensure that your campaign goes live at a key time for your industry.

To help focus all the creative energy, I provided Trè Fitness with a range of campaign mockups – some designs were more ‘word-heavy’ than others! This brainstorming process was great in helping both of us to understand what the campaign needed to achieve. I definitely appreciated that Trey was so thorough in their feedback.
It was also great that Trey was really keen on featuring a QR code; they can work fantastically for campaigns! But from a design perspective, featuring a QR code means bearing in mind a few more considerations… For a start, it’s important to be sure that the QR code is actually scannable. This means knowing the billboard location and how the design will work in that specific environment – a simple consideration, but placing the QR code on the bottom right of the billboard means it’s more accessible to passers-by!

Don’t get me wrong, stock photos have their place in a billboard campaign…. but a graphic designer’s dream is to have some high-quality images of the business. Whether you provide some images of the staff, the customers, or the location – we love an original photo! So top marks to Trè Fitness for that!
