Boris Johnson has given out all the key dates, that many have saved in their calendars. But there is more affecting to the success of your business than just dates. Our road map to re-opening will help you navigate through the next few months and facilitate future success through the messaging applied in your advertising/marketing strategy.
Here is our guide to help you navigate toward success in the lead-up to your business re-opening. *Reminder: all dates are subject to change as informed by the British government on 24th February 2021 along with dates related to the road map

Step 1
From 8 March.
Schools can return.
Two people can meet outdoors, and a care home resident can have a regularly visiter
From 29 March
Outdoor gatherings and six people or two households are allowed will be allowed to meet in private gardens.
Consider the following messaging to ensure parents are aware of your:
- Extra-curricular classes and activities
- Summer school
- Open days.
Do not forget to include the following in your messaging:
- CTA: contact information, Telephone, email and website address.
- Key information: Add information that will impact the decision-making process e.g. success rates and key age ranges.
- Branding: Use your school logo, OFSTED rating and school colours

Step 2- Projected 12 April*
Non-essential retailers
Indoor leisure (Gyms, Swimming pools)
Restaurants can open outdoors.
Zoos and outdoor cinemas
Self-catering holiday accommodation and campsites (Household only)
Gyms, Beauty Salons, Estate Agents & Restaurants – The time has officially arrived, for businesses to once again provide individuals that long-awaited morning workout, deal with that overgrown hair, view their dream home in person and eat this professionally cooked date night. Consider the following messaging to ensure customers are aware of your opening:
- Gyms: Fees, types of classes available, opening times, and location.
- Beauty salon: treatment list (lockdown haircut and post fresh trim), coasting, discount, Safety measure, and how to book.
- Estate Agents: Your appointment booking line, your services, and client success stories
Do not forget to include the following in your messaging:
- CTA: Provide multiple streams of contact.
- Clear messaging: Select the most desirable service on offer and provide the most information.
- Branding: Include your branding kit
Time to go live: 2-3 weeks before.
Book by latest mid-March

Step 3 – Projected 17 May*
Most outdoor contact lifted.
Two families can meet indoors.
Indoor hospitality and hotels can reopen.
Large in door event 50% Capacity
Domestic overnight travel
Indoor entertainment Cinema, Museums theatres
With more freedom comes a greater chance for businesses to safely attract more people than the local population. So, help make your business attractive to people a few hours away,
The key information to include may change depending on each sector. However, the fundamentals are the same.
- CTA: Booking line, contact information, or action required for them to take.
- Visuals: By using inspirational, idealistic, and creative imagery that provokes an instinct within those customers looking to escape those over visited locations near to home.
- Key information: Include key dates available for book, social media reviews and even TripAdvisor score.
Time to go live: 3 weeks before, as people will start making decision ahead of time.

Step 4 – Projected 21 June*
All legal limits on social contact removed.
Night clubs
Large format events allow to go forward
Events: With events finally having their chance to have gatherings of people once again offers limitless opportunities. This is your chance to sell out tickets with people seeking a break from a stressful year.
Include the date of the event, a website to buy tickets, event hashtag and creative visuals.
Time to go live: 3-4 weeks before.
Book by end of April / May to be live in time for your event’s launch.
