No acciDental success – Smile Dental Implants wins Campaign of the Month
A great billboard design is easy to remember, increasing the likelihood of future engagement. We believe our Campaign of the Month choice does just that.
Here are the 5 elements that make Smile Dental Implants deserve a crown:
1) A clear, bold headline
The headline “Affordable dental implants for everyone…” is written in a large, bold, and easily legible font, which ensures high visibility, even from a distance. The text size prioritises this message, ensuring it’s the first thing the viewer notices. The headline is strategically placed in a central position and spaced effectively to avoid crowding, ensuring that the primary message does not compete with other design elements.
The wording is simple and conversational, addressing the audience’s potential concerns directly. “Affordable” is a key selling point, and “for everyone” broadens the appeal to all demographics, implying inclusivity and accessibility.
2) Engaging imagery
The close-up image of a smiling woman instantly grabs attention and conveys the result of successful dental care: a confident, healthy smile. Using a real human face creates an emotional connection with the viewer, which is crucial in health and wellness advertising. The image evokes happiness, confidence, and satisfaction—all emotions associated with achieving good dental health, which is key to inspiring trust in the advertised service.
The woman’s white, symmetrical teeth highlight the promise of the service —transformative dental implants. The image becomes a visual representation of the “before and after” effect without needing to be spelt out in words.
The image is placed on the left, creating a natural reading flow for viewers who scan from left to right. This ensures that the image complements, rather than distracts from, the text.
3) Highlighting key services
The services provided are listed in a short, easily digestible list. Each offering is no more than three words, making it quick for readers to scan and understand.
The services are listed on the right side of the billboard, balancing the visual weight of the text against the image on the left. This balanced layout creates a harmonious and organised design.
Highlighting popular, modern services such as “Invisalign” and “Cosmetic Dentistry” appeals to current dental trends, while “Routine Dentistry” emphasises everyday care, making the service approachable for multiple audiences.
4) A strong call to action
The phone number is prominently displayed in a large, contrasting font and colour at the bottom of the design, making it easy to read from a distance.
The QR code drives traffic to the company website and so provides clear next steps, making it easy for the viewer to act. This bridges the gap between out-of-home and online advertising media and is the perfect example of how OOH and online do not compete, rather they complement each other.
By including both a phone number and a QR code, the campaign caters to varying preferences. The phone number appeals to individuals who prefer traditional methods, while the QR code offers a modern, tech-savvy alternative, seamlessly bridging different audience types.
5) Branding and logo placement
The Smile Dental Implants name is enclosed in a bright pink box, ensuring it is consistently recognisable across all marketing platforms. The bold pink aligns with other accents on the billboard including the ticks, phone number, and QR code, reinforcing a cohesive visual identity.
Including the Denplan logo prominently at the bottom strengthens credibility by associating the practice with a well-known dental health plan. This is particularly effective for health-related advertising, where trust is paramount.
